“…and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Compelled by the lavish way Jesus has loved us, PVBC desires to make His name known throughout the world. Whether it is across continents or right here in our backyard, we take such delight in ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of people in desperate need of God’s grace.

Operation Christmas Child

For many years, PVBC has participated in Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a project of Samaritan’s Purse. Individuals and groups pack shoe boxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies to send to children around the world. Through these shoe box gifts, OCC provides God’s love in a tangible way to children in need and partners with local churches of different countries to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

This year, PVBC will once again participate and serve as a drop off location for the community during the National Collection Week, November 16-23.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

PVBC has supported the outreach ministries of FCA for decades. Currently FCA huddles meet daily at Lincoln County High School, Lincoln County Middle School and regularly on numerous sports teams, affinity groups, and extracurricular clubs.

FCA provides Christian teenagers with a platform to lead and share their faith on their school campus, in the classroom, sports teams, clubs, and countless other places.

Affordable Christmas

Each Christmas season, PVBC offers an opportunity for a select number of families to receive help with gifts for their children. This outreach provides not only an opportunity for parents to bless their children, but also a way for us to pray for and minister to these families during what can be a very stressful time.

Watch this space for more information on the application process as we get closer to Christmas.

Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief

When disaster strikes, some of the first to respond are Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers. A number of PVBC members are among the 2,500 individuals trained as KY DR volunteers. They on the front lines of helping provide hot meals, showers, laundry, chainsaw work, mud outs, chaplaincy, and many other disaster relief services.

Disaster Relief workers serve for the purpose of “Bringing help, healing and hope to hurting humanity.” DR workers often say “we’ll cut up the wood to get to their heart” and “it’s the hardest work you’ll ever love.”
